Safety Shot Buys Into BONK, Trades Happy Hour for Howl Hour

In a move that makes traditional corporate strategy look about as exciting as lukewarm tea, Nasdaq-listed Safety Shot (SHOT) has inked a deal with Bonk.fun, Solana’s reigning memecoin launchpad. The pact grants Safety Shot a 10% revenue share and—because crypto loves a dramatic number, $25 million worth of BONK tokens for its treasury. That’s right: the publicly traded beverage company now has a direct financial tether to the fortunes of a dog-themed digital coin.

Bonk.fun isn’t just throwing pixelated bones for fun. In July, it raked in over $35 million in user fees, surpassing its rival Pump.fun and claiming the crown for the month’s highest-earning memecoin launchpad. It commands over 80% of Solana’s new-token launch market, with some days seeing 20,000+ tokens deployed and $100 million in daily trading volumes, numbers that would make some stock exchanges blush.

The terms are equally unconventional: Safety Shot will issue preferred shares convertible into common stock and plans to plow 90% of its Bonk.fun revenue back into buying BONK. It has already cleared its debts and is sitting on $15 million in cash, which should come in handy for either fueling further expansion… or buying more dog coins when the market dips.

As for BONK itself, it’s hardly the runt of the litter. The token boasts a $2 billion market cap, nearly one million holders, and integrations across 400+ Solana apps, from DeFi protocols to games to consumer tools. Bonk.fun, its launchpad cousin, consistently lands in the top 10 decentralized applications globally by revenue.

CEO Jarrett Boon insists this isn’t a case of “buy crypto, hope for moon.” Rather, it’s about owning a slice of a “highly profitable engine” in the digital asset sector. Translation: it’s a bet on an actual revenue stream, not just price charts and dog memes.

In short, Safety Shot has gone from selling shots to taking one, a calculated leap into a market where volatility is a feature, not a bug. And if the gamble pays off, they’ll have proved that sometimes the fastest way to the future is through a memecoin’s dog door.
